I see education as the best path to success, but the learning, more and more, has to be meaningful and adaptable. I hear about real-world skills all the time, but those skills are changing every single day.  I do know that passing a multiple choice test will never be a real-world skill, but being able to communicate with others will continue to be required. Identifying and solving problems will always be needed.  Learning how to learn builds a confidence that transcends the school building and the work place.  Yes, every student should leave our schools with a clear path forward—and the tools to succeed if that path must change. The most important skill is the core knowledge to adapt and continue to learn or re-learn as the community dictates. This is the number one skill I expect our schools to impart.
