About Christy

Growing up on a farm with six siblings didn’t just instill a strong work ethic, it taught me to be assertive and resourceful.

I’m proud to say I paid my way through college (with some loans), and later earned my master’s degree while teaching high school English, working summer school, and raising two incredible daughters. I am deeply rooted in public education through family, personal, and professional experiences.

During my career as a teacher, I've been involved in many roles at many levels as department chair, lead teacher, leadership team member, state level curriculum committee member, and as a mentor teacher to student teachers from three universities.

With the kids grown and careers at an end, my husband and I are exactly where we want to be, in Dickson. I am very proud of my husband’s service and dedication to Dickson over the years, and I am ready to contribute my part as well.

I am well-versed in all policies and procedures which are student-related, teacher-related, district-related, state department of education-related, and federally mandated. I do not, however, know it all. That’s where you come in. I am ready to listen and learn about your ideas and your concerns.
